How Find My Money collects, uses, and protects your personal information.
Effective date: October 20, 2025
Find My Money LLC ("Find My Money," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you visit our website or engage us as a client.
1. Information we collect
We collect the minimum information needed to evaluate and file your unclaimed property claim, including:
- Identifying information you submit through our contact and intake forms (name, email, phone, city, and a brief description of your situation).
- Documentation you provide during the claim process — government-issued ID, proof of address, and (for estate claims) probate or beneficiary records.
- Standard website analytics — pages visited, referring URL, device and browser type — collected through Google Tag Manager.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Verify your identity and your California connection to the property.
- Prepare, notarize, and file your claim with the California State Controller.
- Communicate with you about your claim status, related claims we may discover, and updates required by the State.
- Improve and secure our website and services.
3. How we share your information
We only share your information when necessary to file your claim or as required by law. This includes:
- The California State Controller's Office and any state, federal, or court agency required to process your claim.
- Licensed notaries, licensed investigators, and document-retrieval partners working on your behalf.
- Service providers that host our website, send our email, or process analytics — bound by contractual confidentiality.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies and Google Tag Manager to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. You can disable cookies in your browser; the site will still work.
5. Data security
We use encryption in transit, encrypted document storage, and limited access controls to protect your data. Sensitive identity documents are collected through secure channels and are not sent through ordinary email.
6. Data retention
We retain claim records for the period required by California law and our state-licensing obligations. After that, records are securely destroyed.
7. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by emailing info@findmymoney.com.

- Request correction or deletion of your personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share personal information).
